Polynomial Applet Help Page

When the polynomial applet starts you will be asked the number of coefficients they want to work with. After you have inputted the answer press the "Enter" button.

Degree 0

Degree 1

Y = ________ X + _________

Degree 2

Y = ________ X² + ________ X + _________

Degree 3

Y = ________ X³ + ________ X² + ________ X + _________

Degree 4

Y = _______ X⁴ + ________ X³ + ________ X² + ________ X + _______

You will need to supply the program with the coefficients in all of the blanks in the equation. Once this is done press the "Enter " button and the graph will be displayed in the window above the equation. At this point you can change the graph and equation by either entering new points and pressing the "Enter" button or you can use the coefficient scroll bars to change the values. If the coefficient scroll bars are used then the graph will be changed simultaneously with the equation.
